Due to the cause behind this marathon and the lack of these types of events in Haiti, we expect a lot of the participants running in the marathon to be doing so for the first time. Therefore, we decided to make the marathon walker-friendly with a generous cut-off time of  8 hours to accommodate those without running experience. Individuals who are still out there after 6-7 hours are encourage to not be embarrassed and to get into the “sag wagon” to safely get transported to the finish line.

No. It is very difficult to convince the city to close the streets. However, we do our absolute best to manage the streets with the national police to make a safe course for all the participants and we must clear the streets by the stated time (8 hours after the start time). Also, expect to go through public street markets as that plays a major part in the country’s continuing economic growth. Our volunteers will do their best to make it as safe as possible for you on the course and provide you with all the support you need.

We are continuously working and pushing for the city to close down specific areas of the streets. But, the city has to consider the lack of alternative roads available for vehicles to get from point a to b and because of that, the race needs to attract at least 500 or more participants for our request to be considered.

Only those who have run with us before will have the option to customize their bibs. Email us at [email protected] for more info.
